David Gehrke

David Gehrke was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Washington in 1978. He graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Economics, and from the University of Washington School of Law with a degree of Juris Doctor in 1977.
He is admitted to the United Stats Tax Court, the United States District Court-Western and Eastern Districts of Washington, the Lummi Tribal Court and the Washington State Supreme Court.
He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, (where he has served on the board of directors for two different terms), and is an Eagle member of the Washington State Association of Justice (formerly Washington State Trial Lawyers Association). He is also a member of the King and Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Associations.
He has specialized in trial litigation for decades successfully handling large and small personal injury cases (up to $1.5 million plus) and large and small criminal cases, (shoplifting to a death penalty case).
He is a frequent lecturer at high schools, community colleges, and churches. He is a quarterly lecturer at Seattle Central Community College and has presented seminars for the Washington State Bar Association and for the Tacoma-Pierce County criminal law section. He has appeared many times in local, national, and international media, being a guest of Matt Lauer and the Today CNN, and Court TV show multiple times, and being a featured guest on Oprah and Larry King, as well as a frequent commentator on the T-Man show on KUBE Radio. Besides loving being an attorney, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, participating in and watching athletics. He has coached youth basketball and soccer for many, many years and enjoys gardening, skiing and cooking.
